The main causes of World War 2, we see the same now.

Two of the main causes of World War II were imperialism and racism. If we look at the world today, this is still relevant and could trigger another major war. We see wars in Africa, where countries try to gain control of other countries’ territories, as well as Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The world’s most powerful superpower wants to gain control of Greenland. And what about racism? Racism, or conflicts between different ethnic groups, can also be seen in Africa. Russia’s attempt to wipe out Ukrainian culture and language is also a form of racism. Jews have been subjected to persecution for a couple of thousand years, and Israel’s brutal war on Gaza is also a war with racist undertones. We also see racism in the USA. Trump’s expulsion of illegal immigrants and border controls have a racist undertone. Didn’t we learn anything from World War II?
Imperialism one of the main causes
Germany and the Axis powers’ attempts to expand their territory were a classic example of imperialism. In Europe, Hitler wanted control over most of the continent. In Asia, Japan took control of areas far beyond its borders. Hitler and Stalin made a pact that would effectively divide Europe into Russian and German parts. Feel free to read my blog about this.
Gaining control of another country’s natural resources and population characterizes such imperialism. This was one of the main causes of World War II. Today, we see that large countries such as Russia and the USA want to expand their territories. Russia has been conducting this activity for several years. Towards Moldova, Georgia, Chechnya and Ukraine. The USA’s desire to take control of Greenland is only a threat at the moment, but the threat is great.
Israel is constantly expanding its territories by extending the Jewish settlements there. In violation of international law and in violation of the UN.
Racism and war

Racism was clearly a significant factor in the outbreak of World War II. Like imperialism, it was one of the main causes. Germany wanted to exterminate the Jews, the Roma and probably also the Slavs. Add in the persecution of homosexuals and we get a complete picture of what Hitler wanted.
Hitler pointed to the Jews as the cause of all the problems. His idea that the white Germanic race was superior to all other races was accepted. This is racism. The idea that our culture, our religion and our ethnicity are better than others is a racist attitude. Millions of Jews were killed in an attempt to exterminate a people and a culture.
The current situation
In the world today, many conflicts have elements of racism and imperialism in them. Russia’s war against Ukraine is clearly both an imperialist and racist war. Imperialist because Putin wants control over all or part of Ukraine. It is also imperialistic because it is claimed that Ukraine has not been a historically independent country and does not have its own cultural identity. I think these two elements are also racist.
In the Middle East, Israel’s constant expansion of its borders is imperialistic. The expulsion of Palestinians from their lands is racist. It is easy to understand that Israel has a need to defend itself, seen in a historical perspective. Nevertheless, what Israel is doing to the Palestinians is quite similar to the persecution the Jews themselves have been subjected to for generations.
Under President Donald Trump, America has changed. Racist ideas are getting more attention. The results are stricter border controls and the deportation of immigrants without residence permits. The US has effectively stopped all entry from several countries. Including ordinary tourism. Most of these countries are from the Muslim world, Africa and Latin America.
Donald Trump also wants Greenland to belong to the USA. This is despite the fact that the people of Greenland do not want this. US aggression towards Greenland has become more and more of a threat. The reason for this is allegedly that the US wants control over the large island for security reasons. The fact is that the US long ago entered into an agreement with Denmark on military bases on the island. The fact that the US has reduced these bases is up to the US. A few years ago there were 4, today there is only 1 left. It is obvious that Trump’s real desire is for economic reasons. Greenland is believed to have enormous amounts of natural resources.
