Joe Biden withdraws as presidential candidate

Tonight came the news that was expected, but still a little surprising. Joe Biden withdraws as the Democratic presidential candidate for the November election. Recently, more and more people have questioned his ability to be re-elected. The reason for these questions is partly a miserable debate against Donald Trump recently and partly his constant signs of an old man whose memory is failing. Several major financial contributors have recently suspended their donations. They are unsure if Biden is the right candidate. Feel free to read my blog this.
Who will be the Democratic presidential candidate?

The Democrats will have their national convention in August. Normally, this convention would have chosen Joe Biden as the Democratic candidate. He won the nomination process in the party. What the process will be for the Democrats now remains to be seen. Several relevant names are mentioned. Perhaps the favorite is Kamala Harris, the current vice president.
The advantage of Kamala Harris is that she is a woman, young, well-known and respected even outside the party. The stage is set for Kamala Harris to run for president after Joe Biden steps down. However, it will be very important for the party that this is presented in as democratic a way as possible and not as a candidate selected by the party elite.
Bad time after Biden resigns
There is very little time until the election in November. Kamala Harris is campaigning as a candidate for Vice President. She’s kind of in the bubble. This, together with the fact that people know who she is, points to her.
After all, Joe Biden had no choice but to hand over the party throne to someone else. The fact that he is stepping down will make him appear in a different light in the future. The choice of Biden is dramatic, right and respectful. In the end, it’s actually a democracy that wins. The Democrats’ chances of defeating Trump would be zero with the aging president. It can be hard to realize even when enough is enough. Joe Biden realized it himself, with or without the influence of the party’s top leaders.
