Palm Sunday also in Sumy. While the people were on their way to church to hear the message from the priest, Russia sends two ballistic missiles to the city. The missiles hit streets right in the city center. The Easter greeting from Putin is unmistakable. Ballistic missiles targeting civilians are war crimes. Sumy is a city of about 250,000 inhabitants located in the north east of Ukraine. The city has been under constant Russian attack since the war began in February 2022. So far, 32 people have been killed and even more injured.
Easter greetings also for Trump

Today’s attack on civilians in Ukraine comes just days after a similar attack on Kryvyi Rih, where 20 civilians were killed. Putin’s message to Trump is clear. “Today’s incident shows Putin’s true colors. He is not interested in a ceasefire. For Trump, this Easter greeting must be a strong wake-up call. Putin is quite simply a terrorist and not a man to be trusted when it comes to signed agreements.
U.S. President Donald Trump has put pressure on Ukraine to enter into a ceasefire. Ukraine is willing to do so. Donald Trump has made no demands on Russia. It’s time for the US President to wake up from his slumber.
Russian war crime

Dropping missiles in streets where civilians walk is a war crime. It is not legal, either in war or peace, to kill or injure someone who does not pose a threat. The civilian population poses no threat.
The UN figure for the number of civilians killed in the war so far is 13,000. Of these, 682 are children. This figure is above confirmed killed. For example, it is estimated that between 25,000 and 75,000 civilians lost their lives during the fighting for Mariupol in spring 2022. The UN has also registered 30,700 wounded in the war.
Today’s attack joins a series of attacks targeting civilians to weaken morale in Ukraine. It’s time for Donald Trump to wake up.
