Kyiv, 06.06.2024 …. There is a war in Ukraine, and even if Kyiv is quiet from time to time, people and their hearts remember everything.
I was able to see with my own eyes what their faces convey. Pain, grief, loss, fear. The Ukrainian people are beaten down and very tired, especially the elderly and the sick.
The streets and even public transportation are filled with gray and no smiles, which is what the ongoing war means.
After talking to many people and experiencing their memories of that terrible time, which only a Ukrainian can understand, one can understand their sleep problems and anxiety.
All of this began on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at approximately 5 a.m. Kyiv time. It is another attempt to destroy the Ukrainian people, to conquer free hearts and create an empire in which Ukraine and Ukrainians do not want to participate.
A lot of destruction occurred not only in the form of residential buildings, those houses that once housed children’s laughter, but also in hearts. Despite all of this, the city can be rebuilt, but the lives of loved ones cannot be returned.
KYIV EARLIER
It’s a wonderful city, there was always something to see and try. Especially the capital’s borsch, which is served in small Ukrainian restaurants. Anyone who has ever visited Kyiv will definitely say that it is a large and beautiful Ukrainian city.
As memorable as Lviv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv. With its own flavor, its own customs and its unique beauty of streets, parks, museums and, of course, countryside.
KIEV NOW
Let’s get back to the present. I see what is happening now.
Despite constant power and utility cuts, people are still trying to smile and work for an independent and happy European future.
Many people want the war to end, but they will never surrender to Russia and will fight for their free future as long as it takes!
My loved ones are also at war, standing shoulder to shoulder with their comrades in arms to protect what is precious. Cities and people’s hearts, their dreams and hopes for the future.
