Trump’s oligarchs target Greenland’s resources

There’s no telling how many people close to the Trump administration have become extremely interested in Greenland recently. Trump’s proposal to Denmark to buy Greenland has been refuted. The push from Trump is about Greenland’s resources. Likewise, his advances have been met with a big no in Greenland. The recent election in Greenland showed that all parties were in favor of independence from Denmark. The disagreement is the process and how long it should take. None of the parties want Greenland to become part of the USA.
The battle for Greenland’s resources
Climate change plays a major role in the USA’s interest in Greenland. The ice is melting at record speed and more and more of the island is becoming ice-free. This makes it possible to extract oil, gas and gold. It is believed that there are large quantities of oil and gas on the island. A gold mine has already been put into operation. There are also likely to be plenty of other natural resources.
After the US presidential election, the oligarchs have taken over the White House. Who actually runs the US is also open to question. Is it Donald Trump or Elon Musk? US interest in the island is said to be for security reasons. This is a vicarious motive. The US has a military base on the island and thus has what it needs for security reasons. Any expansion of the base would probably not be difficult. At the very least, Denmark and Greenland would probably not have viewed an expansion so negatively in the past. Now, after Trump’s constant pronouncements about purchase and annexation, it is unlikely that an expansion will be accepted.
The oligarchs will earn privately in Greenland
By making the island a part of the US, the US will probably not wait long before large-scale extraction of natural resources begins. A business that will be very beneficial to the owners of oil companies and mine owners. Resources that belong to the people of Greenland. In the best imperialist style, the USA will probably pass on crumbs to the local population. Perhaps a McDonald’s, a 7-Eleven or one of Trump’s hotels will pop up.
First it was one of Trump’s sons who suddenly went on vacation to Greenland. Now it’s the wife of Secretary of State Vance traveling there. Ostensibly to watch a dog race. Accompanying her are armored cars and a lot of people. I don’t know how much the whole trip costs the US government. Perhaps Elon Musk’s saving knife should have been used here. Millions of dollars to see a dog race.
