Another Russian war crime, this time in Hroza
It is reported that 50 civilians lost their lives in the small village of Hroza in Ukraine. Some people were gathered in a cafe when a Russian missile ended the lives of civilians. Hroza is a village in Kharkiv, in the far east of Ukraine. I fear that the death toll will be even higher.
Hroza the peaceful little village
Hroza is located in Kharkiv olbast, eastern Ukraine. There should be no military installations there. The attack today cannot therefore be a mishit by a few metres. It is pure terror.
The fact that so many people were gathered at the cafe must be because it was a memorial service. In a short time, there will be 50 more memory hours. Thanks to Putin’s war machine for these unforgettable memories.
Russian-speaking area
One of Putin’s foolish arguments for the war in Ukraine was the suppression of the Russian speakers. In Khariv oblast, the vast majority speak Russian. If I try to follow Putin’s thinking, this is the same as sending a missile against one’s own population.
I myself have many friends in Kharkiv. Very close friends. Some come from the city, others from villages. What they have in common is that they are Ukrainians, but spoke Russian until the attack on Ukraine. The fact that a large part of the population in Ukraine spoke Russian has nothing to do with identity. Feel free to read my blog about the Ukrainian language. It has to do with the fact that Ukrainian as a language has been suppressed for several hundred years. Indeed, the further east we go in Ukraine, the more common it was that the inhabitants spoke Russian.
The attack today against completely innocent civilians is a war crime.
Slava Ukraini.
