Trump’s green light to Israel’s attack

US President Donald Trump has reportedly given Israel the green light to attack Hamas in Gaza. If true, this is yet another example of the US President’s lack of concern for humanity and human rights. Sources state that 330 people have been killed, most of them civilians. The blood is running off Trump’s hands.
A sad day
It’s a sad day for anyone with a shred of empathy for the Palestinians. Trump’s dream of the Gaza Strip as a new paradise for tourists is perhaps the reason for his green light to Israel’s bombing. US military support for Israel is understandable. Israel needs support to repel attacks from Iran, for example. What is happening in the Gaza Strip is not repelling an Iranian attack. It is using overwhelming military force against the Palestinians living there.
Israel’s plan is probably to annex the area as they have done with several areas. Let Jews settle the areas and chase away the Palestinians. This is probably also Trump’s plan, in this light we see Trump’s dream of a new piece of Riviera in the Palestinian territories. Almost certainly with Trump’s own hotels.
Trump’s green light or not, the attack must be condemned
If Donald Trump gave the thumbs up to Israel’s regret under international law, this is a violation of international law. The ceasefire that has lasted a couple of months has been broken and Israel and Donald Trump are to blame. The UN is supposed to be a place where conflicts are resolved. As it stands now, the UN is paralyzed in the major conflicts.
The new administration in Washington is clearly not in favor of a two-state solution. Along with Israel, they are in favor of driving the Palestinians out of their territories. It smacks of ethnic cleansing from afar. If Trump has given Israel the green light, he is complicit in war crimes. Peace in the Middle East will not be achieved until a two-state solution is in place.
